In recent years, the Municipal Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau has closely followed the major requirements of General Secretary Xi Jinping's "two betters" and the core essence of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development's "four goods" construction, based on the "1335" work layout, anchored in the work base of "comfortable housing" for people and the development direction of "future human settlement", and actively explored a new path of urban transformation and development to "vigorously develop the human settlement science and technology industry, accelerate the promotion of urban and rural future community pilot, and jointly build the future human settlement science city".

This year, the Municipal Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau has promoted the new mechanism and new model of the real estate industry’s shift from the development type to the operation type, and the transformation from building houses to "building life and communities".

Up to now, Xinyang has attracted a large number of well-known human settlement science and technology enterprises, such as Xiaomi Technology, and gathered a number of human settlement sci-tech research institutions such as Huawei and the National Earth Observation Data Center of CAS; it has compiled an indicator system, technical standards and implementation guidelines of "good house", and improved the "good house" evaluation criteria with 3 levels (building level, residential level, and neighbourhood level), 6 aspects (safety and durability, residential adaptation, health and comfort, long-lasting operation and maintenance, convenience for living, and environment-friendliness), and 12 classes; it has built the AIOT Smart Human Settlement Eco-Experience Hall and a number of urban and rural "good house" models and whole-scene display platforms; it has successfully established a complete industrial chain system of "good house" construction supported by "prefabricated building, green building materials, prefabricated decoration, smart home and security, customized home and fashionable home textiles"; it has created a number of innovative examples of the construction of "good residential communities, good communities and good urban areas".
